Merry lives in a foster home with small- and large-size dogs she has also been to daycare many times and did really well with all-size dogs. Merry loves playing with other dogs and has been very social around them, so if her future owner doesn't have any dogs it will be great to find some friends with dogs for playdates. She is great at meeting new dogs on leash during her walks and she will even try to bow in order to invite the other dog to play. We think she might have some Hound in her because she loves to chase birds. She walks pretty well on leash, doesnt pull much. Merry is a very affectionate girl that loves to get attention from her people, loves to cuddle, loves getting petted, and of course loves belly rubs. She has done an agility course and loves it. She is a trained dog - she knows “Heel”, “Sit”, “Stay”, “Come” and “Down”. Nikki is excellent on leash, walking right by her person and behaves very mannerly around the public. Even though she does well with large size dogs, she needs a home with no other dogs. Ultimately Smith is down on the back nine and running out of holes to catch The Big Cat. The body of work is currently smaller and dwindling. The problem is that Smith has missed so many games over recent memory and it feels likely that will continue. In terms of individual accomplishments, Tyron Smith is a bit step-for-step with Wright. That being said, the bench to clear at the tackle position for this exercise is Rayfield Wright, although there are plenty of other strong cases. It does not feel fair to look exclusively at left tackles given that the Cowboys have had some incredible right ones over the course of their franchise history. There are four names that I came up with and I am sure that they will be met with universal praise and agreement! For the purposes of this discussion we will exclude spots where no legitimate argument can be made given players on the current roster and also avoid re-listing Zack Martin and Micah Parsons because their cases have already been presented and we do not need to be redundant. Like Barnwell did in the original exercise, it is important to rule out a handful of positions because they are not worth having the argument over. Obviously this widens the floor for discussion a little bit. He thought the premise was which Dallas Cowboys players specifically could finish their careers as the greatest of all time in team history. So Rob, his co-host Rudy Jay and I were all discussing this, but Rob actually misinterpreted the question in a really wonderful way. Consider that one of the times where I saw the SA call lines the most full was when we were discussing what the name of San Antonio’s AAF team should be (it wound up being the Commanders before the league folded). Rob is totally right in that this is the exact sort of thing that floods call lines because it is the type of subject that everybody has an opinion on. Two Dallas Cowboys were listed, Zack Martin and Micah Parsons.ĭuring my Friday morning radio hit with my friends at San Antonio Sports Star, host Rob Thompson brought this question up and called it a “classic” sports radio segment. Last week produced an interesting exercise where ESPN’s Bill Barnwell took a look at all active players in the NFL and tried to figure out which ones could end their careers as the greatest player ever at their specific position. It's simple, accurate, and practical for my day-to-day use. My favorite thing about this Citizen Q&Q H010 (other than the price) is the solar quartz movement, which is able to charge the battery so it won't need regular replacing. In addition to the vintage, versatile style that's the reason I got the Casio A168 in the first place, being a digital quartz lets it wear thin and also be especially affordable. While I usually wear my Bulova A-15 Pilot because of its unique dial and elapsed time functions, when it comes down to it I will opt for my G-SHOCK 5600 if I need to leave the house in a hurry. When we start getting into buying timepieces as works of art, I would prefer the insides be mechanical as part of the deal. It's hard for me to justify spending hundreds of dollars on a quartz watch when affordable G-SHOCKS exist and they pretty much handle the practical accuracy requirement at that price point. Mechanical/automatic movements get around that with a sweeping seconds movement. And I also hate when the markers on a dial do not line up exactly with the seconds hand on a watch. Here's the thing though: I hate the sound of ticking quartz movements. Mechanical movements are like film cameras, inherently worse but fun. It was made for underwater adventures, so I never have to worry about it getting damaged when I'm doing dishes or giving my dog a bath. When I'm going to work, to the beach, or just hanging out on the weekends, I go with my DOXA SUB 300T automatic watch. For me, that's the G-SHOCK 6900-PT1 (the baby blue collab that Hodinkee did with John Mayer). A no-nonsense quartz beater is my go-to for vacations, hiking, or any kind of out-of-the-norm activity. Whether I reach for a quartz watch or an automatic one in the morning is dependent on what kind of day I think I'm going to have. With a stylish but subtly sporty design, it’s a watch I can-and do-take pretty much anywhere and everywhere. It’s a robust Swiss-made diver with a reliable quartz movement from a company with a storied past, all at a reasonable price. And while two-tone watches aren't for everyone, I love how the bronze patinas over time into its own unique pattern, and no two bronze watches will patina the same way.Īpart from a fitness tracker to monitor my steps and swims, the watch I’ve gotten the most mileage out of is my Wenger Seaforce. "Bico" comes from "bi-color" because of the two-tone aesthetic. I usually like switching between quartz and automatic watches depending on what I'll be doing during the day, but I've been gravitating lately towards my Oris Divers Sixty-Five "Bico" which uses a mix of bronze and stainless steel. The G-SHOCK covers all my bases, is one of the toughest timepieces out there, keeps great time for years, and for under $100 it's hard to beat the overall value. I use a lot of timers, alarms, and world time for day-to-day activities and work/travel, while also finding my arm getting caught the elevator or banging up against a table from time to time. When I'm not using my Apple Watch for workouts, my blackout G-SHOCK DW-6900BB-1 is my first option. Overall, I very much enjoy and appreciate mechanical watches and the art form of watchmaking-but through the lens of utilitarian EDC, I think quartz movements certainly have their place. My main gripe with it is its meager water resistance, but it's an okay trade-off for the style and comfort for the money. It's so slim, comfortable, and lightweight that I can throw it on without worry, even at the gym. This was a limited edition and Europe-only release, but the regular model is still available. The result of the pairing is a sharp, all-stainless Casio with a clean, vintage-inspired presentation and a touch of color and lightplay thanks to the mother-of-pearl dial. But when I need something I can knock around a bit that's still compact, thin, lightweight, comfortable, and accurate, I reach for my Casio A1000D-7EF, modded with a Casio AW700 bracelet. My EDC watch is actually a manual-winding mechanical dress watch: the Grand Seiko SBGW289. What type of watch does the EDC team wear, and what aspects of quartz or automatic led them to choose their main movement? I interviewed the members of the team who wore watches their thoughts, and our answers (and watches) are below. This prompted me to take the time to ask the team which side of the line they stood on and why. As avid watch enthusiasts ourselves, we love seeing the discussion on the topic, and our recent posts on our social media channels have generated some excellent responses. It's always interesting to talk about since, like every other aspect of EDC, it can be such a personal choice when choosing one's daily driver. One of the most divisive topics in watches and watch collecting is the eternal conflict between quartz and automatic movements-so divisive it caused an actual horological crisis in the '70s and '80s. Note-taking is required for efficiency in an individual’s professional life ( Kistin, et al. The skill sets developed, then, generalize to more professional settings. However, King 1992 states that note-taking should be paired with good study techniques to enhance learning. It allows the individual to record and retain information for later use. Kiewra 1987 highlights barriers to good note-taking skills and why it is important for students to overcome these. Initially, note-taking is presented as a academic tool for learning ( Howe 1974). At a minimum, people often jot down notes or information they want to remember or that serve as reminder of something to do later ( Hartley 2002, Hawkins 2010). 1995, both cited under Use of Note-Taking in Classes). Writing down information helps individuals to remember information and serves as a permanent record or external memory (see Benton, et al. Note-taking is a skill that is used by individuals almost every day and in different situations. The use of technologically relevant interventions is appropriate for helping these populations access this crucial tool for learning. This is particularly important for individuals who have difficulty acquiring skills, such as students with learning disabilities.
